Monetization FAQ
Is the AppBrain SDK compliant with the Google Play Ad Policy?
Yes! All versions of the AppBrain SDK are 100% compliant with the Google Play Ad Policy. AppBrain is a leader in providing advertising solutions with great user experience. Our SDK is used by tens of thousands of Android apps that are published on Google Play.
Why is AppBrain better than other mobile ad networks?
More revenue. AppBrain generates significantly more revenue than traditional ad networks. Our developers tell us that the AppBrain banners and interstitials generate more income than similar ad units from competing ad networks.
Fast payments: On average our developers receive their payment within the first week after a month completed. No more waiting for weeks or months to get paid!
Advanced analytics. By integrating the SDK, you get useful analytics about user engagement, retention and Google Play referrers.
Is signing up to the AppBrain developer service free?
Yes, it is completely free to sign up and use our developer services. In fact, you can even earn money by using our SDK.
Is it required to integrate the SDK?
You can make use of our promotion services without integrating the SDK. If you want to use our monetization services you’ll need to integrate the AppBrain SDK.
Can I combine the AppBrain ads with other ad networks?
Yes, AppBrain doesn’t impose any restrictions on other ads you show in your app. It works especially well together with AdMob mediation, and we also provide mediation adapters for easy integration with MoPub. See: Integration with other SDKs.
What is the best way to integrate the AppBrain SDK?
The most effective way to earn revenue is by using the interstitial that’s contained in the SDK. By using the InterstitialBuilder class you can show this screen to the user at appropriate moments in your app, for instance when people exit your app, when they enter, or somewhere in between. See our interstitial documentation for more details.
We advise to use the AppBrain banners with a mediation solution such as AdMob mediation, but they can also be used on their own.
If you have an app with many ListViews with content, you can use our native ListView ads.
How much money can I expect? What is the RPM/eCPM?
The RPM of the interstitial is generally high (> $2). However, you can show an interstitial ad less often than you can show banner ads. All in all, the AppBrain interstitial significantly outperforms competing offerwalls, app walls or smartwalls in terms of overall revenue per app install.
The AppBrain banners provide leading RPMs, depending on your audience the RPM may be between $0.50 and $1.50.
In what languages is the AppBrain SDK available?

What are users’ reactions to the AppBrain SDK? Is it compliant with Google’s terms?
Users generally react positively to the ads provided by the AppBrain SDK, due to their unintrusive nature. The AppBrain SDK is and has always been fully compliant with Google’s “Google Play Content Policy”. We have done a study on what factors influence unpublishing of apps on Google Play and AppBrain was found to have no negative influence, in contrast with most other ad networks.

I will soon release a new app but I won’t publish it on Google Play but in other app stores. Can I use the AppBrain SDK for monetization?
The AppBrain SDK works on all devices, but can only generate revenue for users that have a device that has Google Play installed. In addition, to be able to link your app to your account, it needs to be published on Google Play. So if you never publish your app on Google Play, we won’t be able to link it to your account.
I incorporated the AppBrain SDK into one of my apps which was recently removed from Google Play. Will I stop earning money now that the app is no longer available on Google Play?
As long as you have active users who interact with your advertisements and download apps, you will earn money.
How do I get started?
Please sign up with an AppBrain account and get access to the developer dashboard. From there you can start by clicking “Add SDK” next to one of your apps.
